Steve Aoki

Steve Aoki was conceived in Miami, Florida on November 30, 1977. He is an American electro house music producer and record producer. He is also a D.J. Music executive. He is the son of Rocky Aoki and Chizuru Kbayashi. His father, a former wrestler, also co-founded the chain of restaurants Benihana. He has two siblings, sister Kana (who is sometimes called by her middle name Grace) and brother Kevin (owner of Doraku Sushi restaurant). The half-sister of his model and actress Devon Aoki. He was born in Newport Beach and graduated from Newport Harbor High School with an 1995 B.A. in badminton. After graduating from UC Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Arts degree, was enrolled at UC Santa Barbara. He was awarded two bachelor's degrees, one in feminist studies and the one in Sociology. In his college days, he recorded do-it-yourself records & ran underground events from his Biko room at the Santa Barbara Student Housing Cooperative. The Pickle Patch was born as a concert venue. He was active in student activism , and he founded an Revolutionary Anti-Imperialist League section on campus. He had already started his own record label in his 20s. It was called Dim Mak and was named for his childhood idol Bruce Lee. In March 2010 the artist came out with I'm in the House, a collaboration w/ the Zuper Blahq-alter-ego of The Black Eyed Peas singer will.i.am. The track made it to No. 29 on the U.K. Singles Chart in its first week of release. The track later made it into the U.K. Dance Chart & the U.K. Indie Chart, placing in the top 5 in both charts. It was seen on MTV's Jersey Shore, as well as the feature film Piranha and the trailer for Think Like A Man. Producer-songwriter Lucas Secon confirmed in a May 2010 interview w/ HitQuarters that he & Rivers Cuomo had recently worked w/ Aoki on the single. The song was named the top-grossing North American dance artist by Pollstar in 2012. He has collaborated with artists like Afrojack and Linkin Park, Afrojack. Linkin Park, Will.i.am. Lil Jon. Blink-182, Laidback Luke. BTS. Louis Tomlinson. Rise Against. Vini Vii & Fall Out Boy. He's famous for remixes of artists like Kid Cudi
