Zachary Galifianakis

Zachary Knight Galifianakis (Greek pronunciation 01 October 1969) was an American actor, comedian as well as a musician, writer and comedian. He also appeared on Comedy Central Presents and hosted Late World With Zach on VH1. Galifianakis has appeared in several films including The Hangover trilogy (2009-2013), Due Date (2010), The Campaign (2012), Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) (2014) and Masterminds (2016). Galifianakis also voiced characters in animated films such as Puss in Boots (2011). The Lego Batman Movie (2017). Missing Link (2019). Ron's Gone the wrong way (2021). Galifianakis is currently host of the Funny or Die talk show Between Two Ferns, with Zach Galifianakis. He starred in the FX series Baskets and was nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series in 2017. Zachary Knight Galifianakis was born in Wilkesboro, North Carolina, on the 1st October 1969. The son of community center owner Mary Frances (nee Cashion) and heating oil merchant Harry Galifianakis. His mother is English and Scottish-Irish, while his paternal grandparents hail from Crete. He was baptized according the Greek Orthodox faith of his father. He is the father of Merritt the younger sister of his, as well as Greg, his older brother. The cousin Nick Galifianakis is a Washington Post cartoonist and his uncle Nick Galifianakis is also a politician. Galifianakis was a student at Wilkes Central High School, then went on to North Carolina State University, where he studied communications. He was a radio operator at a public access station while in college. In the year 1991, he was a teacher in the class of waltz and was introduced to Mary J. Blige. Following his debut on television Boston Common, Galifianakis joined Saturday Night Live for two weeks. He mentioned that he had been a Saturday Night Live host for two weeks. Britney was my host the week before. I made a sketch. Will Ferrell was to be her bodyguard at the belly button. We planned to shrink Will to make him appear to be the belly button. When I explained the idea to them, she looked at me. She then added, "Yeah, that's funny." Galifianakis was Out Cold's leading lady and played small parts in Below, Bubble Boy, Heartbreakers and Into the Wild.
